Position Purpose: Under the general direction of Chief Corporate Compliance and Officer, the HIPAA Privacy Coordinator monitors compliance in accordance with government regulations relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The incumbent will ensure implementation of the necessary components of the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules as they relate to Renown Health's patients, employees, and business associates. Nature and Scope: The responsibilities of the incumbent will include:

* Maintaining a strong working knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws. * Building and maintaining positive relationships with key process personnel to coordinate the implementation of HIPAA's transaction, privacy, and security standards. * Conducting and/or facilitating annual Privacy Risk Analysis reviews. * Assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of HIPAA privacy and security policies and procedures, designed to detect inappropriate access of Protected Health Information (PHI). * Performing policy reviews and providing feedback and suggestions for updates. * Assisting operational units in properly integrating compliant HIPAA processes and procedures into daily workflow. This includes periodically reviewing workflow to validate processes and procedures. * Serving as an internal resource for HIPAA issues, and advise other staff on aspects of HIPAA and other privacy regulations. * Providing training related to federal and state privacy laws for Renown Health business units. * Conducting HIPAA investigations. * Coordinating breach analysis and notifications to patients and regulatory agencies, as indicated. * Coordinating HIPAA related requirements in all Renown Health business units. * Documenting compliance with HIPAA requirements. * Demonstrating high levels of communication to all levels of internal and external audiences. * Working in collaboration with the Chief Information Security Office on HIPAA Privacy and Security compliance * Leading ongoing Payment Card Industry compliance including, but not limited to, annual self assessments

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. A Bachelor's degree in Business administration or business-related field is preferred. Experience: Minimum of three years' experience coordinating compliance efforts, including privacy, security and/or HIM. Prior responsibility in a Privacy Office for a healthcare organization preferred. License(s): None. Certification(s): CHPC (Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance) or equivalent certification preferred. Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
