Cashier - Room Service
* Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance to provide guest satisfaction. Relay accurate information to guests regarding menus, food preparation, hours of operation, hotel services, directions to local attractions or functions rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
* Receive payment from guests in the form of cash, credit cards, room charges and comp slips. Make change as needed, verify validity of charges, record charges and insure vouchers are properly executed in order to properly balance all monetary transactions. Make deposits/cash drops, complete appropriate cashier paperwork/reports, balance and secure bank.
* Have thorough knowledge of the Room Service menu and work to upsell items to guests.
* Post and payout tips as required. Create, and settle, all checks, comps, charges, etc., while running adding machine tapes on all charges. Count down bank and make accurate "drops" when required. Stock station before leaving.
* Ability to operate a cash register, adding machine/calculator, telephone and credit card machine to complete guest transactions. Ability to operate multi-line telephones to conduct company business. Ability to take orders and clearly repeat back to guests.
* Handle daily amenity deliveries to VIP guests.
* Take phone orders for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries.
* Math skills sufficient to calculate charges and make change.
* Good Cash Handling Skills.
* Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
* Ability to resolve issues using sound judgment and initiative.
* Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
* Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with company standards.
* Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
* Read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete reports, correspondence, process sales transactions and communicate with guests and fellow employees.
* Walk/stand, bend (at neck & waist), twist (at neck & waist), stoop, climb, and/or reach (above and below shoulder level) as needed, or for duration of shift. Fine manipulation of each hand, simple/power grasping and repetitive use of hands are needed to accomplish essential functions.
* Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the company.
* Comply with company rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of company facilities.
* In addition to performance of essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions to be determined by the supervisor based upon the particular needs of the company.
* Attend and participate in meetings in order to be informed of new rules, regulations and procedures and to discuss scheduling and/or other concerns of the company and/or department.
Ability to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification.
