# **Position Summary:**
Under direct supervision the Food and Beverage Manageris responsible for maintaining proper controls on cash, inventory and expenses. Maintains adequate staffing, training and scheduling of employees to meet the needs of the customers. Ensures that the store meets established standards (safety, appearance, security, etc.) and that all employees comply with company policies.Responsible for overall food and beverage operations. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
* Responsible for menu development.
* Responsible for food cost, portion control, and labor for food and beverage area.
* Responsible for safety, cleanliness, and training of food and beverage area.
* Would consult on other Enterprise food and beverage operations.
* Orders food product to meet demands of food and beverage area.
* Ensures merchandising procedures are implemented on a timely basis.
* Could act as Store Manager and will assume all responsibilities in their absence.
* Reconciles cashand completes all daily shift reports.
* Assigns duties, assists in the completion of performance reviews of subordinates, and communicates with Store Manager on staff requests and any problem that requires attention (out of stock product, equipment failure, etc.)
* Ability to read and understand instructions for operating Point of Sale System, gas consoles, and other equipment.
* Coaches, counsels and directs the activities of employees in the store on a day-to-day basis and provides ongoing training.
* Develops and posts work schedules for all employees within the labor guidelines established.
* Assigns duties as necessary.
* Assists in the completion of performance reviews of subordinates.
* Disciplines subordinates as necessary.
* Utilizes build to order forms to ensure proper ordering of store product.
* Ensures that displays always include proper pricing and correct signage.
* Ensures employees maintain store appearance, cash and inventory variances, daily reports and bank deposit accuracy.
* Responsible for employee motivation and vendor relations.
* Provides guidance and training to Retail Clerks.
* Responds to customer complaints as necessary.
* Tracks customer requests for new products.
* Performs other duties as required.
* **Physical Demands: **
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, carrying cases of soft drinks, beer and juice, etc. Physically capable of stocking shelves and coolers, including entering and working in cooler and or freezer at temperature of 36 for up to 30 minutes.
**Work Environment:**
Work is generally performed in the Retail Store and Travel Plaza grounds. Travel Plaza is a 24 hour, 7 day operation.Day, swing, and grave yard shifts and/or holidays may be required.
## Preferred Skills
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or GED and Two (2) years retail experience one of which is in a supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Must possess and maintain a valid California or Nevada driver's license or capable of obtaining one within thirty-days (30) of employment.
* Must be able to be insurable by Companies Driving Policy.
* Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
* Preference will be given to Qualified Native American Indians.
**Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:**
* Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
* Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
* Knowledge of records management and basic accounting procedures.
* Knowledge of Point of Sale System operation, sales methods and techniques.
* Skill in handling and resolving customer complaints
* Ability to be personable, responsive, caring, knowledgeable and flexible with all customers.
* Ability to service customers in a professional appearance and manner.
* Ability to lead, train and establish a high level of customer service.
* Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
* Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner, building respect and confidence.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
